We can’t give 1:1 or emergency support for people in a crisis. If this is what you need right now, you can find ways to access it on our website.
I need urgent helpHi! My name is Ella, and I am part of a development team that has worked with Mind for about two years.
Why is working in a not for profit industry important for you?
"I work for a not-for-profit development organisation. We support loads of charities across the UK, such as Samaritans, Oxfam, Choose Love and of course, Mind! Being not-for-profit means we only charge enough to cover our cost, rather than make a profit. I love being able to work with amazing charities in the UK that do great work to help people, and I think it is important that all the money these charities get is spent well."
Why are you so passionate about working with Mind?
"Mind is such a brilliant organisation that supports so many people on a daily basis with their mental health. It's great to see the big impact the Side by Side site has on the community.
Mental Health support in the UK can be hard to access so seeing how Mind helps people on a daily basis is fantastic."
What difference do you hope these new features will make?
"I am always really excited to hear the feedback from the community, especially about features that have been requested for a long time.
I am excited to see user tagging so that people can reply more easily to other people's posts.
Additionally, I think the new take-a-break feature will be really beneficial for some people who need some time away from the platform without having to deactivate their accounts."
