The app is only available in the UK. If you're in another country, you may be able to use the website on your browser instead.

This release of the app will not have dark mode. We are exploring dark mode in the near future. For now, you can change your phone settings to dark mode, or download an extension which can help. For example, DuckDuckGo offers a Force Dark Mode feature.

Yes, when you download the app, you’ll need to enter your current login details. You won’t need to log in to the web version again.

Our focus has been the app, so we have put other features on pause. We will be exploring further developments in the future, but not for a while. The app is only available to newer models of phones. This is due to limitations within the app store. The web-version of the website is still available.

Please note; we won’t be deploying any new features for a while, as we need to ensure the app is up and running smoothly. We will make note of new ideas, but you may not see them on the site straight away.

The app isn’t optimised for tablets or ipads. It has been developed for mobile phone devices. If people wish to use tablets, or computers, they can use the web version. You can download the app on ipads/tablets, but it will display smaller on the screen.

The app is another access point to the community. The community itself is not changing. You will not lose any friends, conversations, notifications, etc.

There might be a few new faces in the community, but we don’t expect to see a massive increase in members immediately. Moderators will still be around, as usual, to help keep the site safe.

Both the website and the app are access points to the current community. Your account will remain the same on both.

Yes - all posts will be moderated as usual. Our team of moderators will be online, as usual, from 8am-midnight every day.

Nothing is changing in terms of management, moderation, and guidelines on Side by Side. The Mind team will still be around as usual, to keep the community safe. If you spot anything you’re worried about, please use the Flag button.

Of course! If you don’t want to use the app anymore, you can uninstall it from your device. Your account will still be open, and you can access it via the web version.

No - we currently don’t collect any personal information, other than your email address and username. However, members need to confirm they are over 18 via a tick box when registering.
