I need urgent helpWe're creating the Side by Side UnCommonplace Book!
A digital book filled with contributions from community members.
What is a commonplace book?
A commonplace book is usually a space to collect and compile information. These books can contain anything from prose and poetry to recipes, proverbs, sketches, and personal observations.
Why Un-Commonplace?
To represent our diverse community, we're creating the Un-commonplace book. A space to showcase members’ unique experiences.
How will it work on Side by Side?
Our Un-Commonplace book will be created by contributions from our community. It will be a digital, text and image-based book made entirely by members!
Where did the idea come from?
One of our lovely community members, Cherri, suggested the idea and the chapters! Thank you Cherri!
The Book will be divided into chapters
Comfort - think about things that are comforting to you; maybe kind words or activities.
Growth - think about challenges you've overcome, changes you've made, or ways you've grown.
Inspiration - think about what inspires you: place, items, quotes, etc.
How do I contribute to the book?
You can contribute to the book by posting your contribution on Side by Side. You're welcome to post in any way that feels right for you - whether that be a poem, a drawing, helpful words, inspirational quotes, etc.
- Please use the hashtag #uncommonplace on your post so we can find and save your work
- Please make it clear which chapter you're contributing to
When will the book be available?
A digital version will be available for free to all members by Christmas.
Will it be anonymous?
We will include member usernames with each contribution. If you do not want your username used, please say so within the post.
Will people outside Side by Side be able to see the book?
The book will be a digital PDF, so it will be available to those on Side by Side, and others if they choose to share it outside.
